Tata Steel gains on attaining best-ever steel output in December quarter

Tata Steel is currently trading at Rs. 422.65, up by 2.50 points or 0.60% from its previous closing of Rs. 420.15 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 421.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 424.90 and Rs. 421.00 respectively. So far 203070 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 500.90 on 21-Feb-2012 and a 52 week low of Rs. 347.55 on 06-Sep-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 448.10 and Rs. 418.20 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 40698.74 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 31.35% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 42.74% and 23.84% respectively.

Tata Steel has reported best-ever quarterly steel production and sales in the October-December period owing to record production of crude and hot metal to reach an annual crude steel capacity at 8.35 million tonnes. It has recorded hot metal production at 2.28 million tonnes in the third quarter of current fiscal against previous best at 2.07 million tonnes in second quarter 2012-13, while the crude steel production stood at 2.09 million tonnes compared to previous best at 1.93 million tonnes in second quarter 2012-13.
