Top Congress leaders met today to discuss the party’s strategy for the upcoming Monsoon session of Parliament. The Committee group was chaired by party president Sonia Gandhi and senior party leaders Kharge, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, P Chidambaram, Jairam Ramesh, K Suresh & Manickam Tagore were attended. The meeting lasted for an hour during which the leaders decided on issues to be raised during the upcoming session.

The LPG price hike, the Agnipath scheme for short-term recruitment to the armed forces, soaring unemployment, and the falling value of the rupee are some of the issues the party likely to raise in the upcoming monsoon session of Parliament to corner the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party. The Congress party will also seek answers from the government on the demands of the Samyukt Kisan Morcha, which spearheaded the agitation against the now-scrapped farm laws, and the setting up of a committee on Minimum Support Price.

The Monsoon session of Parliament will commence from July 18 and continue till August 12.
