Asian markets settle mostly lower on Tuesday

19 Jul 2022 Evaluate
Asian markets settled mostly lower on Tuesday, tracking Wall Street’s overnight fall ahead of next week's US Federal Reserve monetary policy meeting. Meanwhile, investors are also cautiously awaiting the Bank of Japan's policy meeting on Wednesday and Thursday, which is expected to keep its ultra-loose policy in place.  New wave of Covid-19 infections in China, the world’s second largest economy also continued to hurt market sentiments. Chinese shares ended almost flat with positive momentum even as about 41 Chinese cities were currently implementing lockdowns or some kind of Covid-19 curbs to stop the spread of the virus.
