20 suspended RS MPs begin relay protest in Parliament complex

Twenty opposition MPs, who were suspended from the Rajya Sabha (RS) for protesting against the government, began a 50-hour relay protest inside the Parliament complex today. 

One of the suspended MP Dola Sen said they are holding the relay protest near the Gandhi Statue and will stay at the site through the night. Another suspended MP Sushmita Dev said they will eat and sleep in the Parliament complex but will not allow the government to rest till a debate on price rise is held. Meanwhile, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi said that the suspension of Opposition MPs can be revoked if they apologise and assure they would not show placards in the House.

 RS proceedings were adjourned today amid opposition uproar over suspension of MPs and other issues. Opposition members, mostly from the AAP, gathered inside the well of the House. The LS was also adjourned till 2 pm amid ruckus by the Opposition.
