Tata Steel has been bestowed with the ‘CII-ITC Sustainability Prize’ in the ‘Category A’ for Large Independent Company at the CII-ITC Sustainability Awards 2012. The award this year makes it the 5th time for the steel maker since 2006 and for two years in succession, underlining the company’s ethos built on a commitment for values beyond steel.
The awards were announced at a formal presentation ceremony in New Delhi on Jan 14, 2013. The annual CII-ITC Sustainability Awards are conferred on Indian businesses that demonstrate excellent performance in the area of sustainable development.
Tata Steel had been awarded the Sustainability Prize (in the ‘Category A’ for Large Independent Company - for companies with turnover of above Rs 500 crore) earlier in the years of 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2011.
