Welspun Energy, subsidiary of $3.5 billion Welspun Group, will be establishing a research lab in Gujarat for advancement of solar technology in the country. The company will partner with Gandhinagar-based Gujarat Energy Research and Management Institute (GERMI) to set up a lab wherein different solar technologies will be studied for their performance in Indian terrain and climatic conditions.
Meanwhile, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was also inked with Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University (PDPU), during the recently held Vibrant Gujarat's International Conference for Academic Institutions (ICAI) 2013. The company has committed to make Pandit Deendayal University a green energy institute by commissioning a 25-KW rooftop solar system.
