Alstom T&D India witnesses 30% of order book moving slower

16 Jan 2013 Evaluate

Alstom T&D India is witnessing nearly 30% of its Rs 6,000-crore order-book moving slow on the back of slowdown in the power sector. It hopes that after January 2014 when the Southern Grid is connected to the national network, States in the region will invest more in new transmission lines. The company orders are booked for the next 18-20 months, which may result in backlog growing faster than new orders.

Alstom T&D India is part of Alstom Grid, a global player in electrical grids. Company’s India operations account for over 13% of overall revenues garnered by Alstom Grid’s global operations. Apart from India business, other major contributors are the operations in France, the US, Germany and China.
