Coal India’s production rises by 11% to 47.3 MT in July

Coal India’s (CIL) coal production has increased by 11.1% to 47.3 million tonnes (MT) in July 2022 as against 42.6 MT in July 2021. The company’s production in the April- July 2022 period increased 24.3 per cent to 207.1 MT, compared with 166.6 MT in the year-ago period.    

The company's offtake increased by 8.1% to 54.5 MT in July, 2022, over 50.4 MT in the corresponding month of the previous financial year. Its offtake in the April- July 2022 period also increased by 10% to 232.0 MT over 210.9 MT in the year-ago period.    

Coal India is the world’s largest coal mining company. It also produces non-coking coal and coking coal of various grades for diverse applications.
