Lok Sabha (LS) Speaker Om Birla today revoked the suspension of four Congress members. Parliamentary affairs minister Pralhad Joshi moved a motion in this regard which was approved by the House.

The congress members, Manickam Tagore, Ramya Haridas, Jothimani, and TN Prathapan, were suspended for the entire Monsoon Session on last week, for displaying placards and disrupting proceedings. Speaker Om Birla warned members that he will take strict action if they bring placards. After the revocation of suspension, the House began discussion on price hike which was initiated by Congress member Manish Tewari.

LS proceedings have been disrupted mostly amid Opposition protests over price rise and GST rate hike on some food items, since the Monsoon Session began.
