Group of jewellers including Gitanjali Group, Rosy Blue, Asmi, etc, have moved the Bombay High Court against FMCG major Godrej Consumer products for recovering their dues, estimated to be around Rs 35-40 crore. In total seven suits have been filed by various jewellers seeking to recover their dues for supply of gold coins and diamond studded jewellery to the company. These items were used by the company to incentivise trade to boost sales, a common practice in consumer companies as a means to motivate trade partners.
