Congress MLA Kuldeep Bishnoi resigned from the Haryana Assembly today, day before he is set to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Kuldeep Bishnoi reached the Haryana Legislative Assembly and submitted his resignation as MLA to Speaker Gian Chand Gupta. Bishnoi resignation will necessitate a Adampur byelection, which he currently represents.

After his resignation, Kuldeep Bishnoi said that the Congress has deviated from its ideology and is no longer what it was during Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi's time. The four-time MLA and two-time MP had been upset over being ignored by the party and not being picked up as the chief of state Congress. He was expelled from the party positions by the Congress soon after he cross-voted in the Rajya Sabha polls in June. Bishnoi, who had already met with Union Minister Amit Shah, all set to join the ruling BJP tomorrow, at 10 am.
