Suzlon crosses 150 MW of installed capacity in Andhra Pradesh

Suzlon Group, the world’s fifth largest wind turbine maker, has crossed 150 MW of installed capacity in the state of Andhra Pradesh by the end of 2012. Suzlon has installed over 115 MW over the last nine months, accounting for 60% of the total installations of 190 MW over the same period in the state.

It has contributed 233 million units of electricity to the state grid at the end of 2012. The cumulative installed capacity by the company will offset of approximately 266,085 tons in CO2 emissions; equivalent of planting 22 million trees every year.

Suzlon started its journey in Andhra Pradesh with a 7.5 MW project for the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam in 2003-04. Today Suzlon’s customers in the state include major companies like Mytrah Energy, Indian Oil Corporation and NALCO.
