Rupee strengthens against US dollar on Wednesday

10 Aug 2022 Evaluate
Indian rupee strengthened against the US dollar on Wednesday, supported by easing crude oil prices and continued foreign fund inflows into domestic shares. Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) were net buyers in the capital market on Monday, purchasing shares worth Rs 1,449.70 crore, exchange data showed. Meanwhile, investors are awaiting crucial US inflation data due later today. The forex market had closed yesterday on account of Muharram festival. Although, volatility in domestic equities following weak global cues capped the rupee’s gain.

The partially convertible currency is currently trading at 79.50, stronger by 13 paise from its previous close of 79.63 on Monday. The currency touched a high and low of 79.59 and 79.41 respectively.
