Bharti Airtel, a leading global telecommunications company with operations in 20 countries across Asia and Africa, has installed a 100 kw solar power plant Gangaganj in Lucknow, which would help to save 26,000 litres of diesel per year consumed towards power in its major routing centre. The company would have otherwise consumed diesel to generate electricity at its office.
This location is one of the major switching and routing centre, which processes the voice and data traffic for the telecom operator. Besides, the company is planning to replicate similar power plants in six other locations generating close to 300 KWp of solar energy.
