Wipro Consumer Care and Lighting, a business Unit of Wipro, plans to foray into body lotions and shampoo categories with its flagship brand Santoor. Although the category in which the company is entering into is highly competitive, there is a lot of headroom to grow as penetration level is significantly lower in India compared to other markets. Further towards this development, the company has also started test marketing the hair care and body lotion products last month.
Wipro Consumer Care and Lighting, has a profitable presence in the branded retail market of toilet soaps, hair care soaps, baby care products and lighting products. It is also a leader in institutional lighting in specified segments like software, pharma and retail.
