Physical Rubber prices extend weakness on Thursday

Physical Rubber prices extended weakness on Thursday on account of demand worries following mounting fears over potential recession in the global markets. Rubber Board's Executive Director, in a report presented on the current domestic status of natural rubber, said that production of the material improved by 8.4%, to 7,75,000 tons, during 2021-22 compared to 7,15,000 tons in the previous year.

Spot prices for RSS-4 variety declined to Rs 163/ kg compared to its previous closing of Rs 163.50/ kg; while the RSS-5 variety fell to Rs 157/ kg compared to its previous closing of Rs 158/ kg.
