Welspun India is currently trading at Rs. 73.25, up by 3.20 points or 4.57% from its previous closing of Rs. 70.05 on the BSE.
The scrip opened at Rs. 70.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 72.40 and Rs. 70.00 respectively. So far 25833 shares were traded on the counter.
The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 73.25 on 22-Jan-2013 and a 52 week low of Rs. 35.10 on 09-Mar-2012.
Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 70.75 and Rs. 65.20 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 643.70 crore.
The promoters holding in the company stood at 67.78% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 18.59% and 13.63% respectively.
Welspun India’s business arm Welspun Energy (WEL) has commissioned a 15-MW solar photovoltaic power project in Rajasthan. WEL had won three projects worth 50 MW capacity at the auction under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission, and has completed the first.
The rest two projects of 15 MW and 20 MW are close to completion. The company aims to commission the entire 50 MW capacity in the coming weeks, much ahead of their contractual schedule of February 26, 2013.
The 50 MW solar projects will cut the carbon emissions to the extent of 78,000 tonnes annually. The projects are situated in Phalodi Tehsil of Jodhpur district in Rajasthan.
