Opposition BJP MLAs were marshalled out of the Delhi Assembly today ahead of the confidence motion tabled by Chief Minister (CM) Arvind Kejriwal.

The BJP MLAs wanted a calling attention motion and a discussion on various issues including the Central Vigilance Commission's report on construction of class rooms in Delhi and the excise policy 2021-22. They came to the well of the House after Deputy Speaker Rakhi Birla rejected their demand for calling attention motion. She then asked them to leave the House for the entire day and were later marshalled out.

While, placing the confidence motion, CM Kejriwal said that it will prove that BJP’s Operation Lotus has failed in Delhi and they were unable to buy any AAP MLAs. He also claimed that all AAP MLAs were ‘hardcore honest’. He alleged that the present central government is the ‘most corrupt’ one as they buy MLAs. AAP also has accused BJP of offering Rs 20 crore each to 40 legislators for defection.
