Asian markets trade mostly in green in early deals on Monday

Most of the Asian equity benchmarks traded in green in early deals on Monday, as the risk appetite in the market gained ahead to the August inflation data. Japan’s Nikkei advanced in line with the positive cues from Wall street overnight. Technology sector stocks lead gains as the index notched a two week high rate. The local currency yen tumbled to 24-year lows last week. Stock markets of China, Hong Kong and South Korea are closed today for Mid-Autumn Moon Festival.

Nikkei 225 up by 285.33 points or 1.01% to 28,500.08, Straight times rose by 7.21 points or 0.22% to 3,270.16, Taiwan Weighted jumped by 240.18 points or 1.65% to 14,823.60, and FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI climbed by 1.87 points or 0.13% to 1,498.40.

Bucking the trend, Jakarta Composite narrowed 11.09 points or 0.15% to 7,231.57.
