JSW Steel reports 22% rise in crude steel production in August

JSW Steel has reported the crude steel production for the month of August, 2022 at 16.76 lakh tonnes, that grew by 22% as against 13.77 lakh tonnes in August 2021 on standalone basis. The production of rolled products (flat) stood at 12.01 lakh tonnes in August 2022 as compared to 8.99 lakh tonnes in August 2021 i.e. up by 34%. The production of rolled products (long) rose 25% to 3.75 lakh tonnes in August 2022 as against 3.01 lakh tonnes in August 2021.

The average capacity utilization was 87.4% during August 2022 mainly due to shortage of Iron Ore both in Karnataka and Odisha regions.

JSW Steel is one of the largest steel manufacturing companies in India having units in Karnataka and Maharashtra producing crude steel, long steel and flat steel products.
