Copper futures end lower as dollar strengthens

Copper futures ended lower on Tuesday as the US dollar strengthened against its major rivals after stronger than expected US inflation data raised the likelihood of higher interest rates from the Fed.

Copper futures for December delivery lost $0.0550 to settle at $3.5555 a pound on the Comex metals division of New York Mercantile Exchange. Copper on the London Metal Exchange was down 1.09 percent at $7,868.50 a ton.
