Priyanka Gandhi to join Bharat Jodo Yatra in Kerala: Jairam Ramesh

Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will participate the Bharat Jodo Yatra, said party leader Jairam Ramesh. Addressing a press conference in Kerala’s Alappuzha district today, Ramesh said Priyanka Gandhi would also join the yatra. She is also making preparations for this. He said that the March has covered a total distance of 275 km and today it will be 285 km. The 3,570-km yatra had started on September 7.

When asked about the election of the Congress president that is scheduled to take place on October 17, Jairam Ramesh said that at present the main focus of all party workers is on ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’. All are currently busy in making the yatra a success. Referring to reports of Shashi Tharoor getting approval from Sonia Gandhi to contest for the post of party president, Ramesh said no one needs to take permission from Rahul or Sonia Gandhi to file nomination. Anybody is free to contest the election.
