Rupee trades flat against US dollar on Wednesday

Indian rupee was trading unchanged against the US dollar on Wednesday amid the strengthening of the American currency at overseas markets. Moreover, sustained foreign fund outflows and cautious ahead of the release of key domestic macro data also weighed on rupee sentiments. Investors will also be awaiting FOMC minutes and key US inflation report, that could influence the Federal Reserve's monetary policy stance. Meanwhile, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) downgraded its forecast for the global economy next year and warned 2023 will feel like a recession for many people. Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) were net sellers in the capital markets as they offloaded shares worth Rs 4,612.67 crore on Tuesday, exchange data showed.

The partially convertible currency is currently trading flat at its previous close of 82.21 on Tuesday. The currency touched a high and low of 82.35 and 82.1550 respectively.
