Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) has approved the demerger of NMDC Steel, a three-million tone steel plant in Chhattisgarh from NMDC. The company is in the process of complying with the requirements as envisaged in the MCA Order and the observation letters received from Bombay, Calcutta and National Stock Exchanges.
NMDC is a state-controlled mineral producer of the Government of India. It is fully owned by the Government of India and is under administrative control of the Ministry of Steel.
