Asian markets end mostly higher on Monday

17 Oct 2022 Evaluate
Asian markets ended mostly higher on Monday, despite lingering worries about recession risks. Chinese and Hong Kong shares gained as investors focus on the weeklong Communist Party congress in China, while Chinese President Xi Jinping assured accommodative policies for the economy. Although, expectations of a continuation of tightening monetary policies around the world and the escalating Russia-Ukraine war, added pressure on market sentiments.
