Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers has informed that on 19th October 2022, during installation and commissioning of a new AC Unit in the control room of the GTG plant of RCF Thal Unit an explosion took place. The job was being carried out by contractor engaged for supply, installation and commissioning of the new AC unit. During this unfortunate incident, three persons including two contract employees and one employee of RCF were injured and later succumbed to their injuries. Three contract employees have been injured and are under treatment in the hospital for the same. The cause of the incident is under investigation. The plant operations at Thal Unit have not been affected due to this incident and the same continues to run normally.
