Gold futures settled slightly lower on Monday, extending Friday’s losses which plunged to a two-and-half year low level. Stronger dollar and fears over continued interest rate hike by Federal Reserve pressured the yellow metal investments.

Gold futures for December down by $2.20 or 0.1% to settle at $1654.10 ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile. However, spot gold added by $2.40 or 0.15 % or $ 1,652.18 per ounce.
