Copper futures settled lower on Monday amid growing concerns around slowing global economic growth and recession fears, while weaker yuan against the US dollar also makes dollar-denominated copper costlier for Chinese buyers.

Copper futures for December delivery lost $0.0440 to settle at $3.4305 a pound on the Comex metals division of New York Mercantile Exchange. Copper on the London Metal Exchange was down 0.89 percent at $7,556 a ton.
