Copper futures ended lower on Thursday driven by stronger US dollar index overnight and worries over rising coronavirus cases in China, the world’s top metal consumer. Although, some losses were capped with expectations that the US central bank will soften its pace of interest rate hikes in December.
Copper futures for December delivery lost $0.0255 to settle at $3.5195 a pound on the Comex metals division of New York Mercantile Exchange. Copper on the London Metal Exchange was down 0.35 percent at $7,764.50 a ton.
