Copper futures end lower on Friday

29 Oct 2022 Evaluate
Copper futures ended lower on Friday, hit by more coronavirus curbs in China, while a firmer US dollar index making metals priced in the US currency more expensive for buyers using other currencies. However, expectations of a slightly less-hawkish path for US Federal Reserve rate hikes, capped the upside in copper.

Copper futures for December delivery lost $0.0905 to settle at $3.4290 a pound on the Comex metals division of New York Mercantile Exchange. Copper on the London Metal Exchange was down 2.76 percent at $7,550 a ton.
