Rajasthan Chief Minister (CM) Ashok Gehlot today said that Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi received respect globally because he leads the nation where the roots of democracy run deep even after more than 70 years.

While sharing the stage with PM Modi at a public event at Mangarh Dham in Rajasthan's Banswara, Gehlot said that leaders of the world respect the PM because he leads Mahatma Gandhi’s country, where the roots of democracy run deep and where, even after more than 70 years of independence, democracy is alive. He also apprised the Modi that his government has done a lot for tribals, from opening colleges and universities to providing healthcare facilities.

Gehlot urged Modi to declare Mangarh a national monument as well as for a review of the railway project between Ratlam-Dungarpur and Banswara, which was started by the previous Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government at the Centre and to examine the Chiranjeevi health scheme. The event was also attended by Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel.
