Gold futures settled higher on Tuesday, snapping three straight sessional losses, as investors braced for Federal Reserve monetary policy decision. The yellow metal had registered seventh straight monthly dip for October. Weakness in dollar and US Treasury bond yields during the session also kindled the upward momentum.
Gold futures for December added $9 or 0.6% to settle at $1649.70 ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile. Spot gold rose by $2.20 or 0.12% to $1650.00 per ounce.
