Delhi Chief Minister (CM) and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener Arvind Kejriwal today announced Isudan Gadhvi as the party's chief ministerial candidate for upcoming Gujarat assembly elections.

Isudan Gadhvi is the national general secretary of the APP and a member of its national executive, who joined AAP in June 2021. Gadhvi worked as a media professional. The CM candidate was declared on the basis of Gujarat public opinion. Arvind Kejriwal had launched a campaign on October 29 ‘Choose your CM’ and urged people to send their suggestions via SMS, WhatsApp, voice mail and e-mail. The AAP has so far released names of 118 candidates for the Gujarat elections.

Elections to the 182-member Gujarat Assembly will be held in two phases on December 1 and 5, while votes will be counted on December 8. The state will witness a three-cornered contest - among the ruling BJP, opposition Congress and AAP.
