Asian Markets trade mostly in green on Monday

Most of the Asian markets are trading in green on Monday tracking positive cues from global markets. Globally, investors digested strong US jobs data, which also fueled expectations that the US central bank would slow its pace of interest rate hikes in the upcoming meetings. While strength in resources and energy stocks also boosting the market sentiments amid the spike in commodity prices. Japanese shares boosted by strong corporate earnings reports and outlook. Chinese shares gained, even after China reiterated its commitment to maintaining its strict coronavirus restrictions as it faces its worst outbreak in nearly six months. 

Nikkei 225 gained by 345.19 points or 1.27% to 27,544.93, Straight times up marginally by 1.21 points or 0.04% to 3,131.32, Hang Seng increased by 481.86 points or 2.98% to 16,643.00, Taiwan jumped by 189.35 points or 1.45% to 13,216.06, KOSPI rose by 22.87 points or 0.97% to 2,371.30, Jakarta Composite higher by 16.12 points or 0.23% to 7,061.65, and Shanghai gained marginally by 5.64 points or 0.18% to 3,076.44.

On flip side, FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI down by 2.60 points or 0.18% to 1,435.68.
