Asian markets end mostly higher on Wednesday

09 Nov 2022 Evaluate
Asian markets ended mostly higher on Wednesday tracking Wall Street gains overnight ahead of key October CPI data in United States, while investors are now also awaiting the results of the US midterm elections. However, Hong Kong shares dropped on concerns that a Republican win in US mid-term elections might lead to increased scrutiny on Chinese technology firms. Chinese shares declined on concerned about a surge in new infections in some Chinese cities, despite data showed that its consumer inflation slowed more than expected in October and the annualized producer price index fell for the first time in October since December 2020.
