Copper futures settled lower on Wednesday amid lingering concerns over Chinese demand. Although, some losses were capped by easing fears of an escalation in the Russia-Ukraine conflict after NATO members said a missile that killed two people in Poland was likely fired by Ukrainian forces defending themselves against a Russian missile barrage.
Copper futures for December delivery lost $0.0465 to settle at $3.7735 a pound on the Comex metals division of New York Mercantile Exchange. Copper on the London Metal Exchange was down 0.99 percent at $8,293.50 a ton.
