Gold futures finished lower on Thursday, pressured by the strength in dollar as the bets of continued interest rate hike intensified with the hawkish comments from Federal Reserve officials. Stronger dollar makes the greenback denominated bullion expensive for third currency holders.
Gold futures for December dipped by $12.80 or 0.7% to settle at $1763.00 ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile. However, spot gold jumped by $4.20 or 0.24% or $1,764.64 per ounce.
