Copper futures settled lower on Thursday, weighed down by a stronger US dollar which makes dollar-priced metals more expensive to holders of other currencies. Further, concerns over more lockdowns in China to curb a surge in covid cases, also weighed on copper prices.
Copper futures for December delivery lost $0.0855 to settle at $3.6880 a pound on the Comex metals division of New York Mercantile Exchange. Copper on the London Metal Exchange was down 2.21 percent at $8,110 a ton.
