Gold futures traded lower in early deals of Monday, as the headwind dollar held high making the green back denominated bullion expensive for third currency holders. The yellow metal had settled flat for the week, followed by bets on dovish Federal Reserve stance on interest rate hike.
Gold futures for February slipped by $4.7 or 0.27% to $1764.10 ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile. Spot gold down by $5.18 or 0.30% to $1,749.75 per ounce.
