Idea Cellular surges on introducing 3G-Speed Booster packs

Idea Cellular is currently trading at Rs. 112.60, up by 1.35 points or 1.21% from its previous closing of Rs. 111.25 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 112.40 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 113.10 and Rs. 111.80 respectively. So far 39870 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 124.00 on 16-Jan-2013 and a 52 week low of Rs. 71.20 on 24-Apr-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 115.30 and Rs. 110.25 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 37252.72 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 45.92% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 22.07% and 32.02% respectively.

Idea Cellular, India’s fourth-biggest cellular carrier has introduced 3G- Speed Booster packs that allows post-paid users to access high-speed data throughout their billing cycle. The plans are available for Rs 100, Rs 175 and Rs 250, permitting 300 MB, 500 MB and 1 GB of 3G data, respectively. With this initiative, company aims to enhance the experience of high-end data users who otherwise have to wait till the next billing cycle to get top speed.

The company has reported 12.15% rise in its net profit at Rs 182.69 crore for the quarter as compared to Rs 162.89 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. However, total income of the company has increased by 10.09% at Rs 5467.40 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 4966.45 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2011.
