Copper futures ended higher on Tuesday due to hopes for improved metals demand as China relaxes Covid-zero policy, which have depressed economic growth. However, a firmer US dollar and uncertainty about the Federal Reserve's monetary policies, capped further gains in copper prices.
Copper futures for March delivery gained $0.0230 to settle at $3.8180 a pound on the Comex metals division of New York Mercantile Exchange. Copper on the London Metal Exchange was up 0.36 percent at $8,421.50 a ton.
