Copper futures end higher on demand hopes from China

08 Dec 2022 Evaluate
Copper futures ended higher on Wednesday due to higher demand expectations after the easing of Covid-19 restrictions in China. Slightly weaker US dollar also making copper cheaper for buyers using other currencies. However, weak Chinese trade data and uncertainty about the Federal Reserve's monetary policies, capped further gains in copper prices.

Copper futures for March delivery gained $0.0425 to settle at $3.8605 a pound on the Comex metals division of New York Mercantile Exchange. Copper on the London Metal Exchange was up 0.42 percent at $8,456.50 a ton.
