Copper futures settle higher on Tuesday

14 Dec 2022 Evaluate
Copper futures settled higher on Tuesday after cooler-than-expected US consumer price inflation data fuelled expectations that the US Fed will slow the pace of interest rate hikes. Moreover, a weaker US dollar supported copper prices’ uptrend.

Copper futures for March delivery gained $0.0415 to settle at $3.8420 a pound on the Comex metals division of New York Mercantile Exchange. Copper on the London Metal Exchange was up 1.47 percent at $8,497 a ton.
