Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury today demanded a debate on the situation in Jammu and Kashmir in the Lok Sabha (LS) in the backdrop of the ongoing exodus of Kashmiri Pandits taking place from the valley due to targeted terror attacks.
Chowdhury said the innocent civilians were losing their lives in the valley of Jammu and Kashmir. The pandits are being forced out of the valley, lists are being made by terrorists to eliminate Pandits. ‘In this situation, a detailed discussion should be held on the issue of Jammu & Kashmir in the House,’ he added. He also mentioned a recent incident from Jammu's Rajouri town, where two civilians were shot dead and a third was injured on Friday morning near the gate of an Army facility and said innocent people have lost their lives in Rajouri due to the Army's mistake, the government should at least give a statement.
