Asian markets trade mostly lower in early deals on Wednesday

Asian markets traded mostly lower in early deals on Wednesday, due to frantic correction in the market as the sudden policy shift of Bank of Japan spurred global slowdown fears. The Bank of Japan lifted the upper limit of its tolerance band on 10-year government bonds to 0.5% from 0.25%. Moreover, investor sentiments remained dull with the lingering tension of continued tight monetary policy to the next year. Japan’s Nikkei extended losing streak to fifth straight session.

Nikkei 225 down by 186.73 points or 0.70% to 26,381.30, Straight times narrowed by 6.47 points or 0.20 to 3,247.50, KOSPI dipped by 3.96 points or 0.17% to 2,329.33, Shanghai declined by 3.16 points or 0.10% to 3,070.61, and FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI lower by 4.80 points or 0.33% to 1,462.52.

On flip side, Hang Seng up by 17.84 points or 0.09% to 19,112.64, Taiwan rose by 79.28 points or 0.56% to 14,249.31, Jakarta Composite lifted by 15.25 points or 0.23% to 6,783.57.
