Copper futures ended higher on Wednesday with expectations that the world’s top metal consumer China’s easing of Covid-19 restrictions will eventually lift red metal demand. But, massive covid spike in China and a rise in the US dollar capped further gains in copper.
Copper futures for March delivery gained $0.011 to settle at $3.81 a pound on the Comex metals division of New York Mercantile Exchange. Copper on the London Metal Exchange was up by 0.47 percent at $8,393.50 a ton.
