Copper futures ended lower on Thursday on account of concerns over recession and accelerating coronavirus infections in the world’s top metal consumer China. However, some losses were capped by a refreshed pledge by People's Bank of China to support the economy.
Copper futures for March delivery fell $0.0530 to settle at $3.7570 a pound on the Comex metals division of New York Mercantile Exchange. Copper on the London Metal Exchange was down by 0.99 percent at $8,310.50 a ton.
