Bharti Airtel surges on splitting India business into eight hubs

Bharti Airtel is currently trading at Rs 322.80, up by 3.05 points or 0.95% from its previous closing of Rs 319.75 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs 321.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs 323.75 and Rs 317.35 respectively. So far 73083 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs 5 has touched a 52 week high of Rs 370.40 on 25-Jan-2013 and a 52 week low of Rs 238.50 on 30-Aug-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs 347.20 and Rs 316.30 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs 121805.78 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 68.50% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 25.46% and 6.04% respectively.

Bharti Airtel, country’s biggest mobile carrier has decided to split its India business into eight hubs, as part of its ongoing organizational transcription. So far, the telecom company was operating the Indian business with three regional hubs. This new organizational design, which will be effective from March 1, is aimed at advancing the company’s initiatives to build a more connected organization, closer to the marketplace and able to deliver a world-class experience to customers.

The Company’s net profit for the quarter declined by 47.01% at Rs 750.30 crore as compared to Rs 1416.00 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2011. Total Income has increased marginally by 5.45% to Rs 11344.00 crore for the quarter under review from Rs 10757.60 crore for the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
