Copper futures ended higher on Friday due to hopes of a steady economic recovery in top consumer China next year. However, demand uncertainty following concerns around a global recession and a huge spike in infections in China, capped further gains in red metals prices.
Copper futures for March delivery gained $0.0520 to settle at $3.8090 a pound on the Comex metals division of New York Mercantile Exchange. Copper on the London Metal Exchange was up by 0.47 percent at $8,349.50 a ton.
