Gold futures finished higher on Friday, due to safe haven appeal of the bullion with the rising covid cases, woes over aggressive interest rate hikes by Central banks and on global recession fears. Besides, softer dollar also supported yellow metal buying.
Gold futures for February rose by $8.90 or 0.5% to settle at $1804.20 ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile. Spot gold lifted by $5.68 or 0.38% $1,798.20 per ounce.
